August 23 UPDATE – David K. Trent, the man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting last week on Loudon Avenue, was arrested today following a brief pursuit. He is charged with Murder and lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
Previously released - Investigators with the Lexington Police Department have obtained an arrest warrant in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred earlier today. David K. Trent, 41, is wanted for Murder.
In the early morning hours of Thursday, August 17, officers responded to a residence in a mobile home park on Loudon Avenue for a reported shooting. A significant amount of blood and other physical evidence were located outside the residence. Investigators later located the body of a 25-year-old male victim in a vehicle on Wickland Drive.
Through the course of the investigation, David Trent was identified by witnesses as the shooter. The victim and suspect were acquaintances and had been involved in some type of dispute.
