Starting Saturday, August 12, an exclusive pedestrian phase will be added to the traffic lights at the intersection of South Limestone and Prall Street. The new phase will allow pedestrians to cross the street in all directions at the same time while all traffic is stopped.
“Since this is a ‘T’ intersection, drivers turning from Prall and pedestrians crossing Limestone compete for the same time and space,” says Jeff Neal, director of the city’s Division of Traffic Engineering. “This change should improve comfort and safety for pedestrians without causing undue delay for drivers.”
