Lexington Police have arrested a man in the death of his girlfriend. James A. Aubrey, 56, is charged with Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon.
On the night of Monday, July 27, police were dispatched to a home on Warwick Court for a welfare check. Officers located a woman deceased from an apparent assault. The victim has been identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office as 57-year-old Karen Rae Greenup of Georgetown.
Through the course of the investigation, Lexington detectives determined that Greenup had been killed by her boyfriend, James Aubrey. He is currently lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
