Downtown Lexington’s only 10k beats the heat … and the results are in.
The Bluegrass 10,000 is one of Lexington’s oldest races and enjoys many repeat participants, some who have run the race for 10, 20, 30, and some 40 years! Lexington Parks and Recreation and the Downtown Lexington Partnership want to celebrate all those who complete the race with this special edition digital publication. The race results publication features all the finishers' times divided by age categories, as well as special stories from our participants.
“It is so exciting to hear and celebrate the stories of the individuals running this race,” said Michelle Franzetti, Race Director. “For many families, this race has become a tradition, and we get to see multiple generations completing the course together.”
Mother and daughter Jeanmarie and Rachel Piasek have made the race a family tradition. Jeanmarie has been running the Bluegrass 10,000 for 35 years. “When I was younger, I would come down here and cheer her on,” Rachel said. “Now we run together!”
