Ballpark Drive homicide investigation

A Lexington man has been charged in connection with a homicide that occurred nearly one year ago. David Lee Sayre, 29, was arrested Wednesday and charged with Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence in the death of 42-year-old Earl Parvin.

In July 2019, Parvin was found with a gunshot wound on Ballpark Drive.

Lexington Police have also charged Sayre with two counts of Robbery 1st in connection with last week’s robberies of a tobacco shop on June 25 and a gas station on June 26.

Sayre is lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.


Previously released July 11, 2019 – The Lexington Police Department has launched a homicide investigation after a man was found deceased on Ballpark Drive.

Around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11, officers responded to the 300-block of Ballpark Drive for a report of a person down. The body of a man who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound was located in the roadway. The victim has been identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office as 42-year-old Earl Parvin of Lexington.
