A Lexington man is under arrest in connection with a fatal shooting of his son. Investigators with the Lexington Police Department have charged James Hendron, 45, with Murder (Domestic Violence).
On Sunday, June 17th, 2018 at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100-block of St. Ann Drive in reference to a shooting that had occurred. Callers indicated that the victim had been shot by his father James Hendron, in the driveway of the home. Upon arrival, Patrol officers located the victim, Austin Hendron, 23, lying in the driveway suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers were able to detain the suspect without incident. The victim was transported to the UK ER, where he later was pronounced deceased.
Homicide detectives charged James Hendron, the victim’s father, with Murder (Domestic Violence). Additional charges are possible pending further investigation. Hendron is currently lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
