June 8, 2016 UPDATE - This afternoon investigators with the Lexington Police Department, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals, apprehended Mr. Parson in Versailles. He was taken into custody without incident and is lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
Previously released June 2 - Investigators with the Lexington Police Department today obtained arrest warrants for Leslie L. Parson, 30, for his involvement in an assault that occurred on May 29, 2016 in a shopping center parking lot. The warrants are for Assault 1st and Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon.
At approximately 2:37 a.m. Sunday, May 29, officers responded to the parking lot area of 1030 South Broadway in reference to a report of an assault involving a weapon. Officers located the victim, a 21-year-old man, lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. While on scene, officers performed CPR on the victim until personnel with the Lexington Fire Department arrived and transported him to the hospital.
This investigation is ongoing. Officers are working to locate Mr. Parson. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts or with additional information about this case is asked to call police at (859) 258-3600.
