May 29, 2020, UPDATE – A person has been charged in the shooting death of a Lexington man. Detectives from the Lexington Police Department have charged a 17-year-old juvenile, with Murder for the death of 55-year-old Lowell A. Johnson. The juvenile also had two out-of-county pick up orders and is currently lodged in the Fayette Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
An active investigation resulted in detectives identifying the juvenile as the suspect who shot and killed Johnson.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a man outside an apartment complex on Augusta Drive.
Officers responded to the 1800-block of Augusta Drive around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival officers located the victim suffering from being shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has not identified the victim.
