LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 24, 2017) -- Mayor Jim Gray today opened a new payment office to make it more convenient for citizens who come downtown to pay LexServ bills or child support payments.
“This will be easier and faster for citizens. It’s about convenience,” Gray said.
The City estimates approximately the majority of the 100-150 people who come to City Hall each day are paying a bill in Revenue. Currently, that means going through Security, and traveling up to the Revenue offices on the second floor.
Located near the Kentucky Theatre marquee, the new office opens right onto Main Street. The city has taken steps to ensure appropriate security is in place.
The new office started accepting payments at 8 a.m. today. Hours are 8 a.m. -- 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Discounted parking is available in the Helix Garage on Main.
“Our customers tell us it’s inconvenient to come through security to our second-floor offices. This should address their concerns,” said Rusty Cook, Director of the Division of Revenue. Tax payments and occupational license fees will continue to be collected inside the City Hall.
