LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 29, 2017) – Lexington’s Fourth of July parade is one of the city’s largest parades and is a great way to highlight your group, organization or business.
Event organizers are seeking floats, bands and/or musical groups, equestrian entries, youth groups, clubs and more to participate in this year’s parade which will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, in downtown Lexington.
“The more people that participate, the better the parade will be,” said Laura Farnsworth, Senior Event Coordinator for the DLC. “We encourage individuals and organizations to make this a wonderful parade by joining in on the fun. We hope to have many new entries this year.”
Participants have until Wednesday, June 28, to submit a completed entry form along with the entry fee to the Downtown Lexington Corporation. Applications are available on the DLC’s website.
The parade is part of Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival presented by Fifth Third Bank and brought to you by the Downtown Lexington Corporation and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. The two-day festival features many family-friendly events including a pie contest, the Bluegrass 10,000, live music, street festival, fireworks and plenty of patriotic fun.
