Update: Police investigating theft from restaurant

March 21 UPDATE: A man seen taking money from a Lexington restaurant’s tip jar has been identified as Corey Euler, 31, of Stamping Ground.

Euler was served a warrant today for Theft by Unlawful Taking (Under $500). Investigators with the Lexington Police Department determined that on February 12, Euler took money from the tip jar at Sav’s Grill. The investigation also revealed that Euler entered the restaurant office and stole a tablet computer.

Euler is currently lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center on unrelated charges.

March 15, 2017 - Detectives with the Lexington Police Department are working to identify a suspect in a restaurant theft investigation.

On Sunday, February 12, a man entered Sav’s Grill located at 304 South Limestone Avenue while an employee had briefly stepped out of the restaurant. The man was later seen on surveillance video taking money from a tip jar next to the register.

The man is described as a white man with a gray backpack. Anyone with additional information about this investigation is asked to call the Lexington Police Department’s Bureau of Investigation at (859) 258-3700.
