Police working to identify robbery suspect

March 15 UPDATE: A man wanted in connection with the robbery of a Metro PCS store last week has been identified as Russell L. Clemons III. He was arrested overnight and charged with Robbery 1st.

March 14, 2017 - Investigators with the Lexington Police Department are asking the public for help in identifying a robbery suspect.

Around 5:15 p.m. Thursday, March 9, officers were dispatched to the Metro PCS store located at 1388 Alexandria Drive for a robbery. An employee told officers that a man entered the business and briefly browsed around before displaying a handgun and demanding money from the register. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and he fled the store.

No injuries were reported and there were no other customers in the store at the time of the robbery. The police department today released surveillance video from the store, which shows the suspect to be a white man possibly in his 20s, approximately six feet tall, wearing blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a blue knit hat.
