UPDATE – An arrest has been made in the shooting death of a Lexington woman. Joseph M. Gonzalez, 21, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service Friday afternoon in Shelbyville. He is charged with Murder, Robbery 1st, and two counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st in the case of Crystal Howard, a 35-year-old Lexington woman who was killed Thursday, February 20.
Gonzalez is lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred late Thursday night.
Shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday, February 20, police were dispatched to the 400-block of Shaftsbury Road for a report of a person down. The female victim was found deceased at the scene. Crystal Howard, 35-years-old, has been identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s office.
