Gerald Drive Shooting Investigation

UPDATE - Jan 23, 2023: Grm’yko Chenault was arrested on January 23, 2023, and charged with Assault 2nd degree and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon for a shooting that took place on January 17, 2023, outside of a residence in the 1700 block of Gerald Drive. 

Chenault is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

The Lexington Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating the suspect from this morning’s shooting on Gerald Drive.

At 7:09 a.m., January 17, 2023, officers were dispatched to a local hospital for a male victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. While investigating, officers learned that the shooting occurred outside a residence in the 1700 block of Gerald Drive.

Detectives have identified Grm’yko Chenault, 30, as the suspect. He has an active warrant for Assault 2nd degree for the shooting.

Chenault is considered armed and dangerous, and the public should call local law enforcement if they locate him.
