City crew work overnight clearing streets; community centers open

Crews with Streets and Roads and Water Quality worked overnight plowing and are continuing to do so this morning. They are currently focusing on Ranked 3 and 4 streets. Information about street rankings can be found at lexingtonky.gov/snowupdates.

The Lexington Police Department reports no collisions from midnight through 5 a.m. Motorists are still urged to drive with caution this morning.

All of the city’s community centers will be open from noon – 5 p.m., except for William Wells Brown, which is closed. Visit lexingtonky.gov/community-centers for more information about the centers.

ESP snow sites (ACE, Maxwell and Stonewall) will be open today from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. All Parks and Recreation equestrian classes are cancelled.

Citizens can get information on accidents, lane blockages, snow-and-ice trouble spots and road closures through the city’s Twitter accounts (@lexwrecks and @lexkypolice). Traffic at major intersections is also available in real time through the city’s traffic cameras at lexingtonky.gov/traffic.
