Lexington Parks & Recreation Athletics provides a variety of youth sports programming and competitive adult leagues.

Adult tennis
There are numerous tennis courts located in parks all around the city.
Disc golf
The city has four disc golf courses located at Jacobson, Shillito, Veterans and River Hill parks. Disc golf is free to play in city parks.
Esports
Esports is one of the fastest-growing sports genres nationally. It welcomes participants of all ages and backgrounds. Parks & Recreation’s esports programs is open to all skill levels, designed to create a fun, friendly atmosphere welcoming to all.
Footgolf
Footgolf is a unique blend of soccer and golf. The city offers a footgolf course at Picadome, where the Gay Brewer Jr. Golf Course is located.
Pickleball
Similar to a racquet sport, Pickleball combines the elements of badminton, Table Tennis and tennis. It shares many of their features – the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, a net and rules somewhat similar to tennis with several modifications. Pickleball requires minimal equipment (racquet and ball) so it is inexpensive to play.
S.T. Roach Basketball and Cheerleading clinics
Founded by legendary basketball coach and civic leader, Sanford T. Roach, these clinics offer young people the opportunity to participate in this structured basketball and cheerleading clinic at no cost. These clinics are open to boys and girls ages 6 – 16.
Summer basketball leagues
Summer basketball leagues are available to players 9 years of age and older. All leagues are played on the outdoor courts at Douglass Park.

Parks & Recreation hosts Bluegrass Ultimate's Frisbee® league in some of our parks. If you're interested in joining an ultimate Frisbee® league, check them out!

Youth cheerleading and football
Parks & Recreation offers leagues for cheerleading and football. Both leagues are open to boys and girls 5 – 11. Games are scheduled for Saturday and Sundays and take place September through November.
