Senior Center to host free workshop on new tax laws, charitable giving

The Blue Grass Community Foundation in partnership with the Friends of the Lexington Senior Center is hosting a new workshop, “New Tax Laws, Charitable Giving and You: Simple Ways to Maximize Your Impact” on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. at the Lexington Senior Center. 

The workshop is free, open to the public and pre-registration is not required.

The event will offer smart strategies on how to maximize giving while minimizing taxes.  This will include donor-advised charitable funds, Endow Kentucky Tax Credits, qualified minimum distributions from IRAs, charitable legacy planning and more.

The workshop will be led by Lisa Adkins, president and CEO of the Blue Grass Community Foundation and Brian Dineen, a CPA and the senior vice president of Finance and Administration for the Blue Grass Community Foundation.

The Lexington Senior Center is located at 195 Life Lane, and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The Center, most of its services and classes, are free to all independent Fayette County residents ages 60 and older.
