A Lexington man who committed three commercial robberies has been arrested. Lech Yanicko, 27, was charged with three counts of Robbery 1st degree.
On December 26th, 2017 at approximately 6:18 p.m., a man walked into C & C Pharmacy at 3122 Maple Leaf Drive wearing a mask and armed with a rifle. He forced an employee to give him a quantity of medication and fled the store. On January 10th, 2018 at approximately 9:45 p.m., a man entered Kroger at 4101 Tates Creek Centre and walked out with a pack of cigarettes without paying. Two employees and a priest attempted to stop him and after a brief struggle, the suspect pepper-sprayed two of the citizens. The suspect proceeded to his vehicle and retrieved a rifle and pointed it at the citizens, causing them to run inside the store. Later that same night, at approximately 11:25 p.m., an employee at Walgreen’s located at 3001 Pink Pigeon Parkway called 911 after seeing a man enter the store with a rifle and his face covered. Responding officers were able to identify the man as Lech Yanicko and recover the rifle, which was discovered to have been a pellet gun, along with other evidence. All facts were reviewed and once the investigations were completed, Lech Yanicko was charged with all three robberies.
Yanicko is currently lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
