The commission is established for the purpose of advising the mayor and the urban county council on the development of a long-range plan for selection, acquisition, placement, and maintenance of public art and public monuments.
The Public Arts Commission has completed a public art survey, and numerous public meetings, and is at work on a Public Art Master Plan. This plan will provide the vision and direction for increasing public art across Lexington-Fayette Co., and for administering the Percent for Art Resolution which was passed at the end of 2018.
