Corridors Commission

It shall be the purpose of the Corridors Commission to assess the major roads of Lexington-Fayette County, especially the major and minor arterials, regarding but not limited to aesthetic qualities, landscaping, fencing, signage, litter control, bike and pedestrian considerations and other elements the Commission may deem appropriate.

Corridors Neighborhood Enhancement Match Grant Program

The program's objective is to partner with neighborhoods and other community-based groups to enhance the corridors leading into and out of Lexington and to increase awareness of corridor enhancements. 

The Corridors Commission is not accepting match grant applications in FY 2020.

Public art program

Corridors Commission Public Art Program

Adding public art as a component of the ongoing aesthetic enhancements being executed by the Corridors Commission brings an enriched visual component to Lexington's corridors.

The Corridors Commission allocates 10% of their annual new projects budget to public art projects on Lexington's corridors.

Interested applicants must submit a completed project application to Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

The Corridors Commission meets the third Thursday of each month at 11 a.m. in the 5th floor conference room of the Government Center located at 200 E. Main Street. There are no meetings in July or December.

The September special meeting will take place on Thursday, September 12 at 11 a.m.The regular meeting scheduled for Thursday, September 19 at 11 a.m. has been cancelled.

The October Special Meeting will take place at Ashland, the Henry Clay Estate, located at 120 Sycamore Road, Lexington, Ky. 40502. The special meeting agenda is available here.
