Bike Lexington’s Family Fun Ride is a free eight-mile bike ride in the heart of downtown!  The Family Fun Ride is not a race and the route is designed for riders of all skill sets and ages to celebrate the joy of biking.  The event will also feature giveaways, a Kids Rodeo bike course and a Slow Cycle for ages 18+.

Registration:  In-person beginning at 8 a.m. at the Robert R. Stephens Courthouse *There is no online registration for this event

8 a.m. – Registration opens, Kids Rodeo courses begin
9 a.m. – Slow Cycle begins
10 a.m. – Family Fun Ride begins

Activities include:

  • Kids’ Rodeo – The Kids Rodeo is a youth instructional bike course open to all kids up to age 12. This year, the Kids Rodeo course will be a closed circuit where kids will be doing a series of short laps. All participating kids must complete a waiver/registration form and wear a helmet.  
  • Slow Cycle –  The Slow Cycle is a free competition for ages 18+. The object of the Cycle is simply to be the last person to cross the finish line. Visit for rules.
  • Family Fun Ride –  Bike Lexington’s Family Fun Ride is an eight-mile police-escorted bike ride in the heart of downtown. The Family Fun Ride is not a race and features a rolling closure at a child-friendly pace of 10 mph or under.  The route is designed for all skill levels and ages. Giveaways and prizes:  Free helmets will be given away, while they last.  Already have a helmet?  Stop by the helmet fitting station to ensure a safe and proper fit! 

Every registered Family Fun Ride participant will automatically be entered into a bike giveaway and the winner will be announced after the ride.  One bike will be awarded to an adult, and one to a child.  Participants must be present to win.
