Our goal with lexingtonky.gov is to make it simple, clear, and fast to interact with the city online. We hope to break down any barriers between our services and the citizens.
Everyone’s needs
Design based on an organization chart makes navigation difficult for people outside of the government offices. We are going out into our community to work with citizens from different areas of the city to learn how they use the website. We will use that feedback to improve the site.
Device Support
We strive to support the largest range of devices possible and use analytics to determine which devices are most frequently used by visitors to the site. Our current test suite includes the following:
- Internet Explorer 11
- Microsoft Edge
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Mobile Safari
- Safari
This site should work on any other browser that supports these three technologies: EMCA Script 6, HTML 5 and CSS 3.
Technology
The city website uses the Drupal 8 content management system. This software has a major update roughly twice a year. For more information visit the official Drupal website.
