Housing Advocacy & Community Development

The Dept. of Housing Advocacy and Community Development develops and implements strategies to build strong and equitable neighborhoods, provides needed guidance and ensures sustainable growth and development to improve the quality of life for Lexington residents. 

This department uses federal, state and local funding to provide a variety of public services to the community. These divisions are:

  • Affordable Housing
  • Code Enforcement
  • Community & Resident Services. 
  • Grants & Special Programs
  • Homelessness Prevention & Intervention

Lexington Fayette Housing Survey 

We have contracted with EHI Consultants to conduct an analysis of Lexington’s affordable housing needs now and into the future. The results will help guide our office and the Affordable Housing Board as it allocates funding to new projects.
