Laura Bell Bundy Among Outstanding Kentucky Talent to Perform During Spotlight Lexington

December 30, 2009

Lexington Mayor Jim Newberry announced today that Laura Bell Bundy, star of stage and screen, will perform during Spotlight Lexington; the free festival Lexington is planning to celebrate the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

“We are thrilled to welcome Laura Bell Bundy to the Main Stage at the Courthouse Plaza on October 1, 2010,” Newberry stated.  “She will help us welcome the world to our city and be an example of Kentucky’s talent.”

Bundy said she “could not be more excited” to be performing at Spotlight Lexington.  “2010 will also be the release of my debut country album on Universal Records and I’ll finally be able to play the music I love so much in my hometown that I love so much - that will be a dream come true,” said Bundy.

The Mayor said Bundy is one of several entertainers already confirmed for the festival by the Spotlight Lexington Host Committee, which continues to hire entertainers at the recommendation of the Special Events Committee.  “In keeping with the festival’s overall theme of showcasing the best of Kentucky, the Committee is concentrating on Kentucky groups that reflect the rich diversity of Bluegrass culture,” said Carolyn Richardson, Host Committee chair.
