Names of Spotlight Lexington volunteers to fly around Talladega track
Richard Petty Motorsports driver AJ Allmendinger joined Mayor Jim Newberry today to announce that Lexington will honor Spotlight Lexington volunteers by emblazoning their names on the hood of the “Dinger’s” No. 43 Valvoline Ford Fusion. The names will fly around the track at Talladega Oct. 31, part of the Sprint Cup series.
NASCAR’s Allmendinger to join Mayor for news conference Tuesday
AJ Allmendinger, “The Dinger,” who drives the No. 43 Valvoline Ford Fusion for Richard Petty Motorsports in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, will join Mayor Jim Newberry at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, for a news conference to discuss Valvoline’s sponsorship of Spotlight Lexington. Spotlight Lexington is the festival Lexington is planning on evenings and weekends during the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
The No. 43 Valvoline Ford Fusion will be on display during the news conference. The news conference will be held in the Fifth Third Bank Pavilion in Cheapside Park, located next to the historic Courthouse on Main Street.
Allmendinger joined Richard Petty Motorsports for the final five races of the 2008 season. In 2009 he had six top-10 finishes. This past weekend he finished 16th in the Brickyard 400.
