Sidewalks coming to Wilson Downing and Squires Roads

Sidewalk construction is coming to Wilson Downing and Squires roads to improve pedestrian access and safety in surrounding neighborhoods.

Beginning on Monday, April 15, contractors will begin preparing Wilson Downing and Squires roads for sidewalk installation. Construction will be complete by the end of this year.

During construction, single-lane closures may occur on weekdays from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Wilson Downing Road from Nicholasville Road to Tates Creek Road, and on Squires Road from Cove Lake Drive to Richmond Road. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times, with flaggers as needed. Drivers are reminded to proceed cautiously through work areas.

Currently, there are areas along Wilson Downing Road with no sidewalks on either side of the road. This project will ensure that sidewalks are available on one or both sides of Wilson Downing Road, between Nicholasville Road and Tates Creek Road. Sidewalks will also be completed on the north side of Squires Road, from Cove Lake Drive to Richmond Road.
