Special Notes

There could be traffic congestion on Versailles Rd. this weekend near Man O’ War Blvd. for the Keeneland Race Track fall meet.

Expect congestion near Commonwealth Stadium Saturday morning and afternoon for the University of Kentucky-Louisiana Monroe football game at 1 p.m.

Short St. in downtown Lexington will be closed from Mill to Upper streets from 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays thru November for the Farmers’ Market, which begins at 7 a.m. at Cheapside Park.

The Division of Building Inspection issued grading permits for the following addresses between Oct. 12-23: 929 Muir Station Rd,; 303 Southland Dr.; 1051 Floyd Dr.; and 3050 Helmsdale Pl. Grading permits are for six months and can include some blasting.

The Thriller street performance in downtown Lexington will close the following streets from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30: Main St. from Elm Tree Lane to Limestone St.; Limestone St., from Vine to Barr streets; Short St. from Limestone to Martin Luther King, and all intersecting streets.

MAJOR TRAFFIC IMPACT

Old Frankfort Pike/Ky. 1681 in Fayette County will continue to be closed thru Tuesday, Nov. 15, to construct a roundabout. The closure is between Enterprise and Alexandria drives.

S. Limestone St. Project Update: The intersection of Maxwell and South Limestone streets is now open. S. Limestone St. remains closed to thru traffic from Avenue of Champions to Vine Street. Northbound motorists on Nicholasville Rd./Limestone St. who normally use Limestone to commute downtown should follow the detour signs that identify a detour at Virginia Ave. to S. Broadway. Westbound motorists on Euclid/Avenue of Champions can take Martin Luther King Blvd. to Main St. Northbound motorists should plan on delays. The ongoing reconstruction of Limestone, between the Avenue of Champions/Euclid Ave. and Vine streets, is expected to take approximately one year, but conditions, blockages, and closures will change frequently. The project involves replacing aging sewers and installing conduit for underground utilities. Limestone is closed to thru traffic. The dual turn lane and the inbound and outbound left lanes and left-turn lanes of N. Broadway will be blocked between Church and W. Fifth streets from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. thru Friday, Oct. 30, to install a new water service and water.

SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT

The left turn lane of the inner loop E. New Circle Rd. is CLOSED at Meadow Ln. from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Sunday, Oct. 25, thru Monday, Oct. 26, to install a vehicle detection loop.

One lane at a time of Waller Ave. will be blocked at Elizabeth St. thru Tuesday, Oct. 27, for water service work.

The left turn lane of the inner loop of Man O’ War Blvd. is CLOSED at Palumbo Dr. from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Monday, Oct. 26, thru Tuesday, Oct. 27, to install vehicle detection loops.

Lanes of Euclid Ave. will be blocked as needed at Woodland Ave. thru Thursday, Oct. 29, for signal work.

The eastbound land and bike lane of Euclid Ave. will be blocked between Rose St. and Park Ave. thru Wednesday, Nov. 25, to install new utility poles.

The left lane of E. High St. will be blocked between Lexington Ave. and S. Upper St. from Tuesday, Nov. 3, thru Wednesday, Nov. 4, to install cable.

The outbound right lane and sidewalk of S. Limestone will be blocked between Virginia and Gazette avenues thru Monday, Nov. 9, to remove the right turn lane and reconstruct the cub and sidewalk and build a new bus stop.

The inbound and outbound right lanes and sidewalks of S. Limestone will be blocked at Conn Terrace, one side at a time, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., thru Friday, Oct. 30.

The outbound right lane of Richmond Rd. will be blocked between S. Hanover Ave. and Desha Rd. thru Thursday, Oct. 29, for utility work.

One lane at a time of Todds Road will be blocked at Forest Hill Dr. thru Friday, Oct. 23, to install a water main. Traffic flow will be maintained.

One side of Woodland Ave. will be blocked from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. between E. Main and E. Maxwell streets from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. thru Friday, Nov. 23, to relocate and rebuild power lines.

The right inbound lane and sidewalk area of Midland Ave. will be blocked between Winchester Rd. and Corral St. from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. thru Friday, Nov. 20, to widen and improve Midland.

N. Mill St. will be CLOSED and the center and right lanes of W. Main St. will be CLOSED between W. Main and W. Short streets. Main and Mill will both be closed from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. thru Wednesday, Oct. 28, for sewer work. A detour will be in place.

MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT

Lanes of S. Limestone will be blocked as needed between State St. and Gazette Ave. from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for pedway work.

Lanes of Culpepper Rd. will blocked as needed between Cooper Dr. and Prather Rd. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. thru Friday, Oct. 30, for sewer manhole repairs. Cooper Dr. will also be blocked as needed between Prather Rd. and the end of the street thru Friday, Oct. 30, for sewer repairs.

Bristol Rd. will be blocked as needed between Hart Rd. and the end of the street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. thru Friday, Oct. 30, for sewer repairs. Also, lanes of Hart Rd. will be blocked as needed between Bristol Rd. and Wallace Way and between Wallace Way and the end of the street.

The parking lane and sidewalk of Woodland Ave. will be blocked between Euclid and Columbia avenues from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. thru Wednesday, Oct. 25, for sidewalk repairs.

The approach lanes of Fontaine Rd. will be CLOSED one at a time at Richmond Rd. from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, and Monday, Oct. 26, to install vehicle detection loops.

The sidewalk on E. High St. will be closed at Woodland Ave. 24 hours a day thru Monday, Nov. 16, for construction.

The southbound lane of Cox St. will be blocked between W. Main and Manchester streets for water line relocation, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., thru Friday, Oct. 30.

A portion of Saunier St. will be blocked or closed as needed between W. Short and W. Second streets, 24 hours a day, thru Friday, July 30, 2010, for construction at St. Paul Catholic Church.

Shawnee Ave. will be CLOSED to thru traffic 24 hours a day between Bryan Ave. and Oak Hill Dr. thru Friday, Nov. 20, to rebuild the street. A detour is in place.

Goodloe St. will be CLOSED at Midland Ave. 24 hours a day thru Monday, Nov. 30, for reconstruction and utility work.

Leader Ave. will be CLOSED between S. Limestone St. and Press Ave., 24 hours a day, thru Jan. 29, 2010, for construction of UK’s Pharmacy Building.
