Lexington’s Division of Waste Management is celebrating the 42nd anniversary of Earth Day with an open house at its E-Cycle electronic waste recycling facility.
On Wednesday, April 18, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the facility at 1306 Versailles Road will be open for tours. The large trucks that come by your home to empty the Herbie, Rosie and Lenny containers will also be on display. This is your opportunity to see a front-loader, side-loader and rear-loader truck up close!
The recently renovated E-Cycle (electronics recycling) drop-off center accepts residential electronic waste Monday through Saturday. The Center does not accept items from businesses, including home businesses, or not-for-profit organizations, such as churches or schools, etc.
The E-Cycle center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. -- 4 p.m.; Wednesday from Noon -- 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. -- noon. It is closed on government holidays.
For a complete list of items accepted at the facility visit http://www.lexingtonky.gov/ecycle. This service is for Fayette County residents only.
