Lexington to observe Veterans Day with parade on November 5

The city of Lexington will be celebrating this year’s Veterans Day and honoring local veterans with a parade and a 5K run/walk on Saturday, November 5.

The parade – the eighth annual – will march down Main Street beginning at 3:30 p.m. The parade starts at Midland Avenue and proceeds to Mill Street. The public is invited to attend. For more information about the parade, contact Candace Bradley at 859-233-4511, extension 5252.

Earlier Saturday, there will be a Victory 5K Run/Walk, beginning at 9 a.m. at the VA Medical Center – Leestown Division, 2250 Leestown Road. Registration will take place at 7:30 a.m. There is a $25 entry fee, which includes a commemorative long-sleeved t-shirt. Proceeds will benefit hospitalized veterans.
