Online Reports:

CRIME REPORT: (for victims, personal use, insurance claims) Individuals will need the Case Number, Report Date and Date of Birth of the Victim. Access your crime report >> .

TRAFFIC COLLISION REPORT:  You will need the Case Number given to you at the time your report was taken; Report Date; Last Name of the Owner/Driver of the vehicle. Access your traffic collision report >>.

If you are unable to access your report, please contact the Central Records Unit at 258-3568, Monday through Friday: 8 AM to 5 PM.  There is a fee for accessing reports online.  Only persons involved in an incident may obtain a copy of the report.  A report that references mulitiple victims will not be available online.  Reports are available at Central Records - click here for more info >>


Citizen Online Police Reporting System:
Using the new Citizen Online Reporting System, you can submit a report only for the following incidents:
  • Harassing communications
  • Fraudulent use of a credit/debit card
  • Theft by unlawful taking
  • Criminal mischief
  • Property lost or mislaid
  • Larceny from Auto (less than $500)  

You will be required to create an online account to file your first report.  Keep your login and password for future use.  It is a crime to make a false police report.  For specific details on when and how >>

Internship Program with the Division of Police

Students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience while earning college credit can apply for the Internship Program.  Interns have the opportunity to increase their knowledge and experience within law enforcement.   Interns may be assigned to multiple units during their internship including Patrol, Traffic, Robbery/Homicide, Forensic Services, and Crimes Against Children to name a few.

Each college or university determines the amount of hours needed to fulfill educational requirements with this unpaid Internship Program.  Students interested must be enrolled in a college or university and successfully complete a background investigation.  To apply or receive more information, send an email via policeinterns@lexingtonpolice.ky.gov.

Mopeds - Go Carts - Scooters: What You Need to Know 

Do you plan to drive one? See the requirements . . .
According to Kentucky Revised Statutes, gas and electric scooters are not allowed on roadways unless the operator has a license. This includes mopeds, golf carts, go-carts, or any vehicle propelled by means other than muscular power.
