Paint disposal tips
Whether you are cleaning out your garage or performing home-improvement projects, the Division of Waste Management would like to issue a friendly reminder on the proper disposal methods for paint material.

We do not accept liquid paint. Here are a few tips for proper paint disposal:

• Mix liquid paint with kitty litter, sawdust or paint hardening crystals
• Once hardened, place the lid back on the paint can
• Put the can inside a bag and place in the Herbie for disposal

Consider donating unwanted latex paint to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 451 Southland Drive. You are asked to contact the ReStore at (859) 252-2224 prior to dropping off paint.

We thank you for your cooperation in the effort to ensure our city remains clean and safe.

For more information, please call LexCall at 3-1-1 or 425-2255.

Our vision

Whether it's recyclables that we can use again, yard waste that we can turn into mulch, or items we haul to the landfill, we are always looking for ways to keep the Bluegrass beautiful. Our work is not just about getting rid of things, it's about Lexington's quality of life, its health, and the look of our community.
