Name changes, but transfer station still the place to drop off items for landfill
The name is changing, but the city’s transfer station is still the place citizens can drop off items to be taken to the landfill.
Beginning July 6, Lexington’s regional transfer station at 1505 Old Frankfort Pike will become the the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station due to a change in the management.
Residents may use the transfer facility to drop off individual items and loads of material for a fee. CLICK HERE for up-to-date information on rates and regulations of material disposal and hours of operation.
Contact numbers for the facility have also changed:
• Phone number: (859) 317-5716
• Fax number: (859) 317-5718

Whether it's recyclables that we can use again, yard waste that we can turn into mulch, or items we haul to the landfill, we are always looking for ways to keep the Bluegrass beautiful. Our work is not just about getting rid of things, it's about Lexington's quality of life, its health, and the look of our community.
