Councilman Ed Lane is an active member of the Kentucky business community. His commercial real estate services firm is actively engaged in providing regional brokerage and consulting services, appraisals, market analysis, and tenant/buyer representation. An affiliated company publishes business and economic news magazines and edits a portal Website promoting economic development and business in Kentucky.
Councilman Lane also serves on the boards of numerous professional, business, arts, and civic organizations. Currently, he is active on: UK Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Foundation Board, Lexington Downtown Development Authority Board, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board, Kentucky Arts Council Board, Alltech 2010 FEI World Games Advisory Committee, Urban Council Services Committee, Urban Council Budget and Finance Committee, Urban Council Internal Audit Committee, Mayor’s American Recovery and Reimbursement Act Committee, Fayette County Equine Task Force, Commerce Lexington Agribusiness Committee and Urban Council General Services Link Committee.
Councilman Lane has been a 12th District Council member since 2005 and was re-elected in 2006 and 2008. He resides in the Gardens of Hartland in Southeast Fayette County. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and is a University of Kentucky Fellow.
