The Lexington Division of Fire and Emergency Services has long recognized the importance of maintaining a close relationship with the citizens we serve. In an effort to further promote this relationship, the LDFES has developed a program called the Citizen's Fire Academy. The CFA is designed to teach citizens about the many jobs the LDFES does on a daily basis and to promote citizen interaction with the firefighters and paramedics of the LDFES.
The Citizens Fire Academy is a dynamic 11-week program designed to provide participants with an inside view of the organization and operations of the Lexington Fire Department. The curriculum includes live demonstations, classroom learning and hand-on experiences all of which are designed to give the participant a true feel for the LFD. Best of all, the entire program is free and open to anyone 18-years-of-age or older who either lives or works in Fayette County.
