The core of any organization is its people and the Lexington Fire Department is no different. The LFD Division of Human Resources is responsible for hiring, employee records, promotions, disciplinary action, payroll, retirements and recruiting.
HIRING PROCESS INFO!
The Lexington Fire Department will be accepting applications for the position of firefighter recruit very soon! The next hiring process will be open from May 1st - May 31st. Information will be posted here and on our Facebook page when the process begins.
By the end of the first phase of the hiring process, the LFD will require all applicants to have a current and valid (good for one year from the time of the test) CPAT card. You DO NOT need a CPAT card to submit an application. If you do not have a current CPAT card, an opportunity to obtain one will be given to you as part of the hiring process. CPAT stands for Candidate Physical Ability Testing and is a state-wide physical agility testing program. Follow the link below to see when upcoming CPAT testing will be conducted by the state.
