The city operates several community centers located throughout Lexington. Activities offered vary at each center but most include programming for youth and adults.

Historical timeline

Black & Williams Neighborhood Center offers the Eldercrafters program for Fayette County residents 60 years of age and older.

The center also houses Community & Resident Services, the Parent and Guardians Empowered (PAGE) and the United Way of the Bluegrass Waypoint Center

Castlewood Community Center

Charles Young Center

Tuesday & Thursday:  1 – 8:30 p.m.

Charles Young Community Center programs include the Police Activities League, youth and teen activities, and senior activities. The center also houses a United Way of the Bluegrass Waypoint Center and WORK–Lexington. For more information on WORK–Lexington, call (859) 258-WORK (9675).
