The therapeutic recreation program provides a
wide-variety of high quality recreation, leisure and outdoor opportunities to enhance the physical, social and emotional well-being for citizens with and without disabilities in our community.
Parks welcomes and encourages the participation of individuals with disabilities in all programs offered. Please contact our office at 288-2928 for more information.
Programs offered through the therapeutic recreation program include adult fitness, bowling, basic horsemanship, adaptive aquatics, wheelchair tennis, summer camps and special events. Wheelchair Tennis Clinics
Individuals with limited mobility are invited to participate in the wheelchair tennis clinics and programs. These programs are offered in the spring and summer.
Toyota Bluegrass Adult Miracle League
This league, which takes place at Shillito Park on Tuesdays from September – October 2010, is a baseball league for individuals with disabilities. All games will be played on an accessible field. The league is for ages 18 & over and the cost is $10 per person. Please call 288-2908 for registration information.
