"As the Chaplain of the LFD, I am really thankful for the FOF Toy Program. It gives the men and women of the LFD, who see so much negative throughout the year, the opportunity to participate in something extremely positive - something that has a huge impact on so many children. Thanks Lexington for investing not only in the lives of the many children but also in the lives of YOUR Lexington firefighters. It could not happen without you," said Lt. Stewart Dawson, Chaplain, LFD.
Those in the community that wish to donate toys to the program, can drop them off at any Lexington Fire Station between now and December 15.
Toys should be new, unwrapped and appropriate for ages newborn to 10 years old.
Firefighter Nick Newman, President of the Lexington Fraternal Order of Firefighters shares that "the Toy Program is much larger than providing toys for children during Christmas. It's about the Lexington community joining together, working side by side, in the spirit of giving, to take care of their neighbors. That is the best gift."
Special thanks to Isaac Commercial Properties, ZROCK 103.3, and Insight Communications for their continued support of the Firefighter Toy Program.
The Lexington Fraternal Order of Firefighters is a non-profit organization committed to helping the Lexington community and fostering the brotherhood of firefighters of the Lexington Fire Department.
