2013 Summer Youth Employment Program
Learn, Earn and Make New Friends

The city is inviting local businesses, and participants, to become a part of the 2013 Summer Youth Employment Program. Last summer the LFUCG placed over 150 youth at businesses and organizations across the city. This year, the goal is to give 225 youth a job for the summer.

Participant Information:
Participants will be placed in various businesses (medical facilities, libraries, government facilities, non-profits, law offices, childcare facilities, churches, camps, etc.) Participants will work 20 hours per week for six week. 

Application Period: February 2 – 28, 2013 (Deadline: February 28, 2013 at 4 p.m.)

• Fayette County Resident
• Age 14 – 17 (Applicant must be 14 years of age by February 28, 2013)
• Family income cannot exceed the federal income eligibility guidelines (below)

Note: For each additional person add $7,326 (annual) and $611(monthly)

All applications must be completed online at the Lexington-Fayette Urban County website at (Lexington Now, Job Openings, Accessing the System, Click here to Continue, Summer Youth Worker.) You must create a user name and password. 

Required documentation (birth certificates, social security card or resident/green card), verification of household income and state or school issued photo ID) must be taken to the Division of Youth Services, 1306 Versailles Road (Cardinal Valley Center) by February 28, 2013.  Faxed documents will not be accepted.
