Bluegrass 10,000

Join us again this year for the 40th annual Bluegrass 10,000.  This 10-kilometer race winds through the heart of Downtown Lexington as a kickoff to the city's 4th of July celebration. A $500 cash prize will be awarded for the 1st place overall winners in the Male and Female 10k & Male and Female Wheelchair Divisions. The Bluegrass 10,000 is brought to you by Lexington Parks and Recreation, the Lexington-Herald Leader and the Downtown Lexington Corporation.

The Bluegrass 10,000 uses the ChronoTrack timing system to score the race. ChronoTrack utilizes an RFID disposable tag (chip). The disposable timing tag comes attached to the bib. Before the race, runners must attach the tag to their shoes as per the instructions. The tag is not collected after the runner finishes.

Strollers, in-line skaters, roller skaters, skate boarders, bicycles, or pets are NOT allowed in the 10K race.

Bluegrass 10,000 Fun Run

The Fun Run is a one mile walk/run that will start on the corner of East Short St. and Deweese. Participation awards will be given at the finish, and entertainment for adults and kids will be provided at the Old Courthouse Plaza in downtown Lexington after the races.

Strollers are permitted in the FUN RUN only.

For additional information, call the Bluegrass 10,000 Office at 288-2946.
