The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Division of Police is an organization of well-trained, dedicated and disciplined men and women who work together to make Lexington truly the "Heart of the Bluegrass". The Lexington Division of Police is an accredited professional law enforcement agency dedicated to providing unparalleled service to the community we serve.

The testing and selection process is very competitive. We encourage applicants to review our eligibility requirements and employment procedures.

The Recruiting Coordinator and Training Staff is responsible for all aspects of recruiting.  The ultimate goal of our staff is to identify individuals with the greatest potential for a successful career at the Lexington Division of Police and make every effort to hire that applicant. 

How to Apply

  1. Make certain to review the eligibility requirements, employment procedures and testing dates.
  2. Fill out the Online Police Recruit Interest FormThis will register you for the posted written test dates.
  3. Complete and submit the LFUCG Application for Police Officer position.

There is no lateral transfer policy into the Lexington Division of Police. There is no eligibility for waiver.
