NOTICE: Beginning Monday, September 29, 2014, the ABC Office will be located at 150 East Main Street.
In order to legally sell alcoholic beverages in Lexington, Kentucky, a person or business must apply for and be issued an Alcoholic Beverage Control license through two governing agencies: LFUCG and the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
The application must be filed with the LFUCG Alcoholic Beverage Control Office prior to submitting it to the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
Step 1. Complete the KY Dept. of Alcoholic Beverage Control Form 1 A-B Basic Application Packet (includes all forms for license type) and Form 3-B Background Checks at http://abc.ky.gov/Pages/LICapps.aspx or call the KY Dept. of ABC Office at (502) 564-4850 to have an application mailed. Complete it in its entirety. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Step 2. Complete the LFUCG Final Inspection Form in its entirety. Please include a floor plan of the establishment. Parking areas should be included in the diagram, if applicable. If applying for an NQ2 or LR50 license, the diagram must include all required seating.
Step 3. Refer to the LFUCG ABC License Fee Schedule to determine your ABC license fees. Complete the Fee Payment Form and remit payment via certified check, cashiers check or money order to the LFUCG Division of Revenue Office (Checks or money order should be payable to LFUCG). The Division of Revenue Office is located at 200 E. Main St., (Government Center, 2nd Floor), Lexington, KY 40507. The Fee Payment Form MUST be marked PAID at the Division of Revenue Office before bringing it to the LFUCG ABC Office.
Step 4. Submit the completed KY Dept. of ABC Application, Fee Payment Form, Final Inspection Form, and all other applicable forms to the LFUCG ABC Office at 150 E. Main St. Click here for LFUCG ABC Forms Packet.

**IMPORTANT: You must file your KY Dept. of ABC Application with the LFUCG ABC Office no sooner than seven (7) days of the filing of your legal notice nor more than twenty-one (21) days of the filing of your legal notice (the first day starting the date the notice runs) KRS 243.360.
DANCE PERMIT (RCO 3-22)
A Dance Permit is required for any ABC licensed establishment allowing patrons to dance. Download the LFUCG Dance Permit Application Packet HERE.
SPECIAL TEMPORARY LICENSE
A Special Temporary License may be issued for any regularly organized fair, exposition, racing association, or other party. You must be a non-profit organization, racing association or political campaign function. If you are a for-profit individual or organization, the event must be part of a bona fide civic event or community sponsored event. MALT BEVERAGE KEG REGISTRATION ORDINANCE (RCO 3-27)
This ordinance only pertains to retailers of kegs holding six gallons or more. For more information see RCO 3-27.
LFUCG ABC retail licensees are required to purchase Keg Tags and Registration Forms at the LFUCG Division of Revenue Office prior to selling kegs of 6 or more gallons. To purchase the required tags, the licensee will need to complete a Keg Tag Order Form. The fee for each tag and registration form is $5. The fee must be paid in advance at the Revenue Office located at 200 E Main St. (Government Center 2nd Floor) Lexington, KY. The licensee will then submit the Keg Tag Order Form to the LFUCG ABC office to obtain the Keg Tags and Registration Forms.
BEVERAGE SERVICE TRAINING ORDINANCE (RCO 3-28)
This ordinance requires any person who sells or serves alcoholic beverages in Lexington, KY (with limited exceptions) to obtain training in certain required areas prior to serving alcoholic beverages. For more information see RCO 3-28.
