EcoART Grant Program

Promoting environmental awareness through art

The Department of Environmental Quality and Public Works, in partnership with LexArts, is pleased be a part of the EcoART grant program. These grants fund creative projects that get people thinking about stormwater, energy conservation, recycling and other environmental issues.

The EcoART grant is available for non-profit groups, schools, and individual artists for projects that take place within Fayette County.

Local art projects, ranging from performances to photographs to sculptures and all with an environmental theme, are recipients of this year’s EcoART grants. This is the fourth year for the program and 16 art projects are receiving support.

“Our EcoART program helps us creatively connect citizens with their environment, encourage environmental responsibility and promote sustainable ways to live and work,” Mayor Jim Gray said. “Public art is an invaluable educational opportunity to reach the public in non-traditional ways.”
