PARKS & RECREATION YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUES are open to boys and girls ages 5 – 12. Age eligibility for the 2016 season is determined by the participant’s age as of August 1, 2016. The 6U league is a flag football program with minimal contact while teaching football fundamentals. 8U, 10U, and 12U leagues are tackle football programs with safety equipment provided by Parks & Recreation. All teams play an 8-game season and play an additional end-of season match-up game or participate in a single elimination post-season tournament.

Teams travel to league locations throughout the city for games.
League locations are subject to change as warranted by the number of registrants.

No more than four days of football (practices/ games) may be scheduled per week for a team. Practices scheduled by coaches may not exceed 2 hours. Season games are scheduled Saturdays and Sundays – a limited number of weekday evening games may be scheduled based on number of teams.
Participants may select league locations. Players returning to the same age division can choose to return to the same team. All other players register as a new player. Parks with multiple teams in an age group will hold a new player draft. Idle Hour, Shillito, and Southland Parks are expected to have multiple teams in 8U and 10U leagues.

REGISTRATION FEE $55.00 per participant
(Scholarships available -uniform cost is not included. Some locations may have booster clubs that charge a fee, but payment of this fee is optional.)
REGISTRATION INFORMATION & FORMS:
Scholarships are available upon request with income eligibility provided. At the time of registration new participants must provide proof of age and scholarship applicants must provide income eligibility information unless previously submitted in 2016. Payment is also due at the time of registration. Registrations are accepted by mail-in, drop-off and on-line. Drop-off registrations are accepted during regular business hours at the Athletics Office in the Dunbar Community Center, 545 N. Upper Street (Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm).
