The Jacobson Park Marina has a launch area for non-gasoline powered boats which cost $3 per boat. Patrons may also rent pedal boats which hold two people. The rental cost is $4 for one-half hour. The Jacobson Boat dock typically opens for weekends in late April and opens on a daily basis in late May. All boat riders must wear a US Coast Guard approved personal floatation device. Vending machines and restrooms are available at the Marina. The age requirement for pedal boat rental is 16 & over. Those under the required age must be accompanied by a chaperone 16 or older. Fishing docks are located in several areas throughout the park and are accessible to wheelchairs. You must have a valid Kentucky fishing license if you are 16 or older. There is no charge to fish at this park.

On October 6 – 10, 1993, a dedicated volunteer group comprised of citizens, local businesses and LFUCG personnel came together to construct a creative playground at Jacobson Park. This playground is a multi-level wooden structure with tunnels, ramps, bridges, sliding poles and other features designed for active play. Other creative playgrounds are located at Shillito and Woodland parks.
Jacobson Park offers seven shelters which may be rented by families and organized groups seven days a week. Each shelter has picnic tables, water and electricity and can accommodate at least 50 people. Shelter #4 is the largest shelter and it will accommodate 100 persons. It rents for $75 per day. All other shelters rent for $50 per day. Parking is available nearby. Indoor restroom facilities are located near shelters #1, #2 and #3. Please note that all rentals require written permission.

Jacobson is home to one of the four dog parks owned and operated by the LFUCG. This dog park is approximately three acres with a tree line and benches. Parks & Recreation is currently working with the Friends of the Dog Park, Inc. on a re-design of Jacobson Dog Park. This re-design will increase the acreage of the dog park, divide it into two paddocks and upgrade the fencing to the horse-farm style found in our other dog parks. More parking will also be available.
