Access to the Records Center & Archives is by appointment only. 

The Records Manager handles the storage and retrieval of Lexington city records that pertain to business of LFUCG, and also serves as the city expert on record issues.

The Record Center & Archives is an off-site storage facility that contains more than 15,000 units of the city's government records and archival materials.  These records are open to the public and city employees for research and inspection under Kentucky public records law.

You may request an open record by using the LFUCG Open Records Request form.  Open Records request are only accepted via USPS mail, in-person or fax (859) 258-3393.  
Open Record Requests sent via email are not accepted.
