  • Click on Region
  • Select Kentucky
  • Click on Agency

Q. Do I pay Kentucky sales tax on vehicles registered out-of-state?
A. Sales tax is paid in the state where the vehicle is registered.

Q. Do I pay Kentucky sales tax on equipment other than vehicles?
A. Kentucky sales tax is collected on miscellaneous merchandise sold on the site unless a current tax exemption certificate is presented when payment is made. Miscellaneous items are paid through Public Surplus where applicable taxes and buyer fees are collected. Fleet Services must receive notification of payment from Public Surplus before items can be released. Sale receipt must be in the same name as the tax exemption certificate.

Q. How long do I have to pay?
A. Payment is due five business days from the date the auction ended.

Q. Can I pay by credit card?
A. At this time we are not set up to accept credit card or ACH payments. Accepted forms of payments are cashier’s check or money order.

Q. Can I view items for sale before bidding?
A. Yes. In fact, we strongly encourage you to view the items in advance of purchase. Vehicles, equipment and other miscellaneous items are available for viewing Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
