There are several unique venues in the Downtown Lexington area available for special events. Each venue has its own special features and atmosphere.
Thoroughbred Park, located at the intersection of Midland and Main Street features rolling hills, a beautiful fountain and the feel of being off the beaten path. Electricity is not available in Thoroughbred Park. Generators are permitted. Aerial View
Phoenix Park, designated the Free Speech Park, is located at the corner of Main Street and North Limestone Street. The park creates a cozy atmosphere suitable for small events. Limited electricity is available. Aerial View
Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza is located from 120 - 150 North Limestone Street. The plaza has ample space and is suitable for large events and festivals. Excessive noise is prohibited during the business day while court is in session. There are a special set of guidelines to be followed while using the plaza. Cheapside Park is located adjacent to the beautiful Lexington History Museum on the Main Street block between Upper Street and Mill Street. The park has undergone extensive renovations that include a permanent event facility, 5/3 Pavilion. Event coordinators are encouraged, but not required to, use local establishments as suppliers if the event is serving alcohol.
Triangle Park, located at Main Street and Broadway, features mature trees and a breath taking fountain on the east border of the park. Triangle Park operates under guidelines (Click Here For Guidelines) established by the Triangle Foundation. The park usage permit is obtained through the Lexington Center Corporation by calling 859-233-4567. Limited electricity is available in the park for a fee of $50. Generators are allowed. Aerial View
If you are considering hosting an event in downtown Lexington, you will need to submit an event application. Due to the event process, event applications must be received at least six weeks prior to the event. A deposit of $100 is due at the time of application. Any event involving alcohol will be required to obtain a liquor liability policy in the amount of $1,000,000.
