Requesting A Report
Procedures and Fees are listed below for:

Victim Reports (C&O)
CRIME REPORT - ONLINE (i.e. victim, personal use, insurance claim): Individuals will need the Case Number, Report Date, Last name, and Date of Birth of the Victim. Access your victim report >>. Note: A report that references mulitiple victims will not be available online.
WALK-IN / PICKUP REPORT - Central Records is located at Police Headquarters in the Lobby. Reports on open cases for crime, violations, incidents, etc. may be received 5 days after a report is taken. Please bring with you: CR# (if provided by the police officer), Name of the Complainant, Date of Offense, Complainant's Name and Address, and information about the type of offense (such as what was stolen, where it was stolen from). There is a fee of $.10 per page for the report. Call Central Records, 258-3600 if you have additional questions about the availability of a report.
BY MAIL - Request a report to be sent to you by mail. Provide "walk-in" information above; include the fee of $.10 per page of report and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. (Average size of report is 1 page)
Collision Reports (Vehicles)
TRAFFIC COLLISION REPORTS (Vehicle accidents): You need the report case number given to you at the time your report was taken (if available), the report date and last name of the owner/driver of the vehicle. Access your collision report >>.
WALK-IN / PICKUP or BY MAIL - May be received 5 days after a report is taken. Please provide the following: CR#, Name of Driver/Owner, Location of Collision, Date of Collision. There is a fee of $5 per report. When requesting by mail, include the fee of report and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. (Average report is 4-6 pages or more)
Background - Record Checks (Criminal History)
Must be obtained through the Administrative Office of the Courts in Frankfort, KY either by mail or in person in the following manner:
Requests by mail must include:
- Date of birth
- Social Security Number
- Self-addressed, postage paid envelope
- Check or money order payable to the Kentucky State Treasurer
Requests should be sent to: AOC Pre-trial Records, 100 Millcreek Road, Frankfort, KY 40601. An individual may request in person by going directly to the AOC office. This office has a drive thru window which is open from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. There are fees for Criminal History checks. Please call 1-800-928-2350 to inquire for costs.

Note: You should not address your request to a specific individual, since mail addressed to an individual will not be opened while that person is out of the office.
Effective September 1, 2003, the cost for fingerprinting will be $10 for each card.
