Lexington Employment Report

In June 2021, the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) commissioned the University of Kentucky’s Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) to study several issues related to Lexington’s employment and workforce. LFUCG had four main objectives:

  1. Analyze Lexington’s employment trends.
  2. Assess its workforce characteristics and challenges.
  3. Examine migration, commuting, and remote work trends.
  4. Analyze the economic impact of hypothetical expansions in several of Lexington’s main industrial sectors.

This report is organized into four chapters.
