About the fund
The Jobs Fund is a business incentive program that is designed to support business expansion in Lexington-Fayette County. The program allows businesses to apply for grant and loan dollars if they are creating jobs in Lexington with a minimum average salary of $26 per hour. The program is open to businesses currently located in Lexington and businesses relocating to Lexington.
Completed applications are reviewed by LFUCG staff and are then received by the Economic Development Investment Board, which assigns preliminary approval, requests more information, or declines applications. Companies whose applications that are approved negotiate incentive contracts with the LFUCG based upon the board’s direction. Once contracts are negotiated, the contract then goes to the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council for final approval.
